Meeting Preview: School Board To Discuss Plans for 2nd Referendum

Financing of consolidation program, special election among the items to be resolved at Monday night's meeting

The Muskego-Norway School Board will meet Monday night beginning at 7pm, with an update of their 'bring your own technology' pilot program during the Educational Services Committee meeting.

However, the regular school board portion of the meeting scheduled for 7:30 will feature the school consolidation plan, which would build one new elementary school on Muskego's east side, as well as close two others and renovate the remaining schools, will also be discussed at length.

The board is presenting an initial resolution to authorize general obligation bonds to help fund the program. Β In addition, a resolution to provide for a special election to present a new referendum question, which would ask the public's input on approving this financing, will be presented.

, and the school district has been retooling its plan, cutting the cost by $4 million while retaining Country Meadows Elementary. Β The previous plan had also featured a closure for this school, which shares building space with Bay Lane Middle School.

The school board meets at the Educational Services Center west of Muskego High School.
