School Board Names Firm to Find New Superintendent

Board agrees to hire same firm that conducted superintendent search five years ago, and will be counting on public to aid in this search.

The Muskego-Norway School Board conducted business at Country Meadows Elementary School and decided unanimously to hire the firm of Hazard, Young Attea & Associates (HYA) out of Illinois to conduct a search for its next superintendent.

Board President Jim Schaefer explained that the board had reviewed several firms' proposals, and will rely on public input as the process moves forward to select the right candidate to fill Dr. Joe Schroeder's position. Schroeder is leaving at the end of June to take the associate executive director's spot with the Association of Wisconsin School Administrators.

"This is the first step in this process, and we looked at three firms who specialize in finding school administrators," Schaefer said. "We will be setting up a timeline with them to include input from the public to create a profile for the next superintendent as well."
