Warriors Fall to Badgers in a Heartbreaker

A sprint to the endzone in the final minutes brings Muskego to near even against Lake Geneva, but fall short going for two.

The Muskego Warriors kept the Lake Geneva Badgers close all game long, but fell in the in Level 1 playoffs 28-27.

A 75-yard punt return by David Kucharski with 1:13 left in the game drew the Warriors within 1, but a 2-point conversion failed bringing the season to an end.

The Warriors' Adam Regini struck first in the 1st quarter on a 30-yard pass play, but the Badgers would answer within 25 seconds with a score of their own. By halftime the score would be knotted up 21 all.

After a quiet 3rd quarter, Lake Geneva scored with 1:25 left in the game.

Kucharski's punt return was his second TD of the day; Tyler Thomka would also score on a 35 yard run in the 2nd quarter.

The Warriors season, its first in the Classic 8 Conference, ended up recording a 5-3 record overall, and 4-3 in the conference.
