Warriors Finish Strong, Head to Playoffs After Running Over South

A 53-20 defeat at Waukesha South leaves a strong finish and an open door to a playoff berth for the Muskego football Warriors

A somewhat rocky beginning in the inaugural Classic 8 season for the Muskego Warriors ended in dominant fashion Friday night as the 53-20 win against Waukesha South meant a chance to continue in the playoffs.

The Warriors produced another strong performance on the ground, racking up 446 yards and providing all of their eight touchdowns. One 65-yard run was on a kickoff return by David Kucharski in the first quarter.

Quarterback Peter Roy threw for 32 yards, but added three touchdowns on 178 yards rushing to his personal stats. Other performances: Tyler Thomka 2 TDs, 97 yards rushing; David Kucharski, 1 TD; Xavier Jansen, 1 TD, 111 yards; Adam Regini, 1 TD, 27 yards.

Needing a fourth conference win to get in the playoffs, Friday night's game was a must-win for the Warriors. WIAA matchups are expected to be announced sometime on Oct. 13.
