Andrija Novakovich Stars for U.S. Soccer U-17 Team

The Muskego resident found the back of the net in every match during a tournament in Japan.

Muskego’s Andrija Novakovich didn’t just debut for the U.S. Soccer U-17 national team over the weekend.

He starred.

The Americans won a tournament in Japan last week, and Novakovich scored in every match, according to U.S. Soccer match reports.

He tallied the first goal as the U.S. defeated Japan 2-1 in the opener.

Against Croatia, Novakovich was first on the board in the seventh minute, and the U.S. took a 4-2 win.

In the final match, Monday against the Niigata All-Stars, Novakovich entered in the 56th minute and scored the match’s first goal in the 60th. The USA went on to win 2-0.

Novakovich will be a senior at Muskego High School and has committed to play college soccer at Marquette. Wisconsin Soccer Central reports that he scored 41 goals for the Warriors last year, and another 22 for his club team, Chicago Magic PSG.
