Soccer Guide: Muskego Warriors Net Thrilling Victory

Warriors play for undefeated SEC season on Tuesday

The Muskego Warriors boys soccer team clinched at least a share of the Southeast Conference title with a 1-0 overtime victory over visiting Kenosha Bradford on Tuesday night. Both teams entered the match 5-0 in league play.

Record: 11-4-2 (6-0 Southeast Conference)

Rankings: The Warriors were one of five teams to receive honorable mention in Division 1 in the latest Wisconsin Coaches Association state poll and they were also ranked No. 6 in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel area poll.

FYI: In the battle between the SEC’s two unbeaten teams on Tuesday, Muskego scored a thrilling victory over Bradford when Andrija Novakovich scored in the 88th minute off an assist by Jared Pradarelli. … Goalkeeper Ryan Henderson was credited with four saves. … The Warriors had their seven-match unbeaten streak snapped on Thursday with a 3-0 non-conference loss at Kettle Moraine, which received honorable mention in the state poll and was No. 4 in the Journal Sentinel area poll. … Novakovich has scored a team-high 19 goals this season, which is tied for 21st in the state.

Up next: The Warriors play a non-conference match at Wauwatosa West 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Whitman Middle School. They will look to wrap up the SEC championship outright when they play at Oak Creek 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
