Muskego's Final Jam Strikes a Musical Note

With the Muskego Performing Arts Council as its nonprofit focus, August's Jammin' on Janesville celebrates the arts in music and song.

Organizers have noted in spite of cooler temperatures in June and the sizzling temperatures in July, each event for Jammin' on Janesville has grown in offerings and attendance. With perhaps the best weather of all three events forecast for Friday, August 3, the seasonal street party continues building Muskego’s new tradition of combining business with pleasure, according to the .

“Our original intention of this event was to help the businesses located on Janesville Road endure challenges faced in the midst of the construction.  Since then, I’d say this event has  quickly morphed into one of the area’s largest, most attended gatherings of the year, with businesses and residents coming together for food, fun, and friendship,” said Tina Weiss, the chamber's executive director.

The Muskego Performing Arts Council will be the spotlight nonprofit for the event, and will hold the opening auditions for Muskego's Teen Idol at Bethel Lutheran that evening. Auditions begin at 6 p.m. and will feature 20 contestants who will vie for the chance to make it to the semi finals on Thursday, August 23 during the Muskego Community Festival, with the finals on August 25.
