Volunteer Receptionist, La Casa de Esperanza in Waukesha
La Casa de Esperanza in Waukesha seeks an outgoing, personable individual to greet guests at La Casa’s main reception desk, answer a multi-line telephone and assist La Casa staff and clients. Volunteer will welcome and assist visitors, answer phones and direct calls, assist with general clerical duties, and work cooperatively with La Casa staff and volunteers. We are looking for a commitment of six to 10 hours per week and a six-month commitment is requested. Must be 18 years or older and bilingual in Spanish is preferred.

Walk with Me Event, Easter Seals Southeast Wisconsin
Join us in our premiere event of the season! Easter Seals Southeast Wisconsin Walk With Me takes place during opening night of Polish Fest on the Henry W. Maier Festival Park Grounds. We have opportunities available at the Potawatomi Stage area from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. Opportunities include: T-shirt distribution, flasher/Glow stick sales, water station, greeters and traffic control directors, walk route motivators, and set up/take down crew. Must be 18 years or older if unsupervised or must be accompanied by an adult if 17 or younger.

Special Olympics Coaches, YMCA at Pabst Farms in Oconomowoc
Help teach and coach baseball and/or softball skills this summer on our new Miracle Field at the YMCA at Pabst Farms. We are looking for people who are familiar with baseball or softball rules and can commit to a minimum of three hours per week throughout the summer. Coaches help our Special Olympians on Mondays or Tuesdays, late afternoons or early evenings with weekend games or tournaments. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old, have a general knowledge of the sport and be able to obtain certification in CPR, First Aid, and Child Abuse Prevention. The YMCA will provide training.

Park Maintenance Projects, Waukesha County Park System
The Waukesha County Park System has volunteer opportunities for various groups and organizations that would like to volunteer in the parks. Past projects include wood chipping trails, invasive species removal, painting picnic tables or trail markers, litter pick-ups, etc. We prefer weekday availability between 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but are willing to try and accommodate groups on weekends and evenings as well. Requirements: All projects are outdoors and proper footwear is recommended (no sandals or flip flops). We also ask volunteers to wear work gloves if they have them, wear sunscreen and/or bug repellant, and bring a bottle of water to drink. All training and orientation is provided by park staff.
