Volunteer Opportunities: Tutor; Senior Field Trips; Serve Breakfast, Lunch

Want to give back to the community? Here are some opportunities to serve via the United Way in Waukesha County.

Along with existing opportunities to volunteer at , the , , and the Muskego Community Festival, the also has these available:

Instructor Aide-Day Services, Goodwill Industries of SE Wisconsin
Volunteers are needed to assist staff with recreational activities at an adult day center and/or with outings for participants that have cognitive or physical disabilities. Volunteers are needed in Waukesha, Brookfield, Pewaukee and Menomonee Falls. Scheduling is flexible, based on your schedule. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Volunteers must be a minimum of 16 years old, social and mature with the ability to volunteer for one hour per month.

Field Trip Escort, Brookfield Rehab
Brighten the day for others and yourself by going on field trips to various events such as shopping, the Domes, museum, festivals, State Fair Park, the zoo and more. Volunteers must be a minimum of 16 years old, able to push a wheelchair and easily relate to seniors. The facility is located in Brookfield.

Tutor, Literacy Council of Greater Waukesha
Energetic volunteers are needed to work one on one with children and adults to improve their reading, math and/or spelling skills. Volunteers meet with students at a local library for one to two hours per week. To maintain a mentoring relationship with the students, we ask for a six-month commitment. Schedules are set once a tutor is matched with their student. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and able to attend a 12-hour training.

Donate/Serve Breakfast or Lunch Food,
Hope Center provides a safe environment for the homeless and clients in need, Monday through Friday during the day. You can volunteer to donate, make and serve a breakfast for 40 guests. You must supply all the items (breakfast food and volunteers). Breakfast is served at 9 a.m. and lunch is served at noon. You may also help by donating breakfast or lunch items like creamer, sugar, coffee, milk, OJ, eggs, lunch meat, macaroni and cheese, meat, potatoes, juice, etc. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. Great for individuals or groups. Training is provided, located in Waukesha near Carroll University.
