I'm assuming it's free if you have a standard country park sticker thing... Is this a trail with tons of hills, jumps, etc or more jsut a dirt trail through the woods? And are there any maps or anything that show the trail, where it goes now, where it will go later, etc?   more ›

A Warrior's Effort Puts the Ball in Play at Park Arthur

The regulation sized baseball field was the culmination of years of effort by the Muskego Warriors youth baseball program, and Tuesday's opening day was truly one for celebration

As speeches were made and the first pitches thrown in the opening day ceremonies for the first game at Park Arthur in Muskego, it may not have been apparent how many pieces had to come together to build the diamond. "If it was not for the Muskego Warriors Youth Baseball organization getting the ball rolling this park would still be for sledding only," said Jim Prusinski, a board member for the organization. Prusinski said the process started five to six years ago when he approached Parks Director Craig Anderson asking if there were any plans for another regulation-sized diamond. Horn Field is the only other such diamond in the city featuring 90-foot base paths and a deep enough outfield. At that time, Prusinski's son was playing tee ball …

Muskego Kicks Off the Baseball Season Under Football Weather Conditions

Despite wind, rain and cold temps, the start of the summer season was part of the spirit as the Muskego Athletic Association holds its kickoff celebration

Paul Peardon was probably as excited as any of the hundreds of kids in attendance at the Muskego Athletic Association kickoff celebration Saturday at Bluhm Park. The MAA event chairman was also the emcee for the events offered to families who came out to celebrate the start of youth baseball for summer. This was the first such event that the organization has held, and high winds, cold temperatures and occasional rain was not going to dampen the spirit. "People have been great - there were actually a few more out here earlier before the sun even came out, and we're thrilled to see the involvement," Peardon said. The baseball program features about 40 teams for kids from ages 6 to 14 years old, and it appeared like all of the teams were out …

Tougher Reading, Math Standards Mean Lower Test Scores in Muskego-Norway

Despite changes in benchmarks for Wisconsin statewide reading and math tests, Muskego-Norway students continue to perform significantly higher than the statewide norms.

Use Patch's interactive database to see the Wisconsin Knowledge and Concepts Examinations scores in Elmbrook and other area districts for the last three years. Students in the Muskego-Norway School District saw lower scores in statewide math and reading tests this year, but those changes are almost entirely due to tough new standards that kicked in this year. In Muskego-Norway, 44.7 percent of the students who took the Wisconsin Knowledge and Concepts Examinations in November 2012 scored at proficient or advanced in reading. That's compared to 91.9 percent who hit that mark in 2011. The 2012-13 results were released last week. In math, 64 percent of the Muskego-Norway students were proficient or better this year, compared to 90 percent …
