Week in review for September 16-22 takes us to court, along the freeway, and along Janesville Road; what stories did you miss?
While the summer may have been a bit sleepy for 'hard news' in Muskego, we're revisiting the top stories of the week to catch everyone up on what's happened in and around the city. A story that we have been following since last September came to an end as Annmarie Schulte was sentenced to 14 years in prison after being found guilty of two counts of child sexploitation. A local business, which closed in May sees continuing problems as Mama Mia's is sued for back rent by the owner of the Muskego Centre mall. As road construction reveals a prettier version of Janesville Road, the city could extend loans to more of the businesses along the route to spur a facelift for them as well. Annmarie Schulte gets seven years behind bars and 10 years of extended supervision for each of two counts of child pornography, despite defense claims that she posed "no actual risk."
Annmarie Schulte, a Muskego mother of four and former volunteer at Tess Corners Elementary School, was sentenced to seven years in prison and 10 years of extended supervision on each of two counts of sexual exploitation of a child on Friday. Schulte had taken explicit pictures of one of her daughters and sent it to a man she met on a fetish website in August 2011. Her husband had discovered emails between her and a man called "Daniel Webb" in September and contacted police. To date, Webb has not been located She had been found guilty in July after a plea deal had been struck. Two other counts of sexual assault were dropped as part of that deal. Schulte sat quietly in court Friday morning as the terms of a plea agreement were discussed in her case, where she had faced the charges stemming from an email relationship she had developed with a man on a sexual fetish website. Schulte had been in contact with a man called 'David Webb' on an internet fetish site, and admitted she had sent naked pictures of a 4-year-old family member at his request. Woman who allegedly sent pornographic pictures of a 4-year-old to a man she knew from an internet fetish site will face a jury, with selection on Friday and trial to begin on Tuesday
Muskego woman Annmarie Schulte will be going to trial in Waukesha County Circuit Court Friday facing two counts of first degree sexual assault and two counts of sexual exploitation of a child. Jury selection is slated to begin in the morning, and the trial is set to start Tuesday. According to the criminal complaint filed in October 2011, Schulte met a man named "David" on the website and took pictures of the young girl, who is a family member, naked and sent them to him. Some of the pictures also involved the suspect in inappropriate poses with the girl. Statements a Muskego mom made to police officer before she was arrested for allegedly sending pornographic pictures of juvenile family members to a man she met Online will not be suppressed, a Waukesha County judge ruled Thursday. Circuit Court Judge Kathryn Foster ruled Thursday that the Miranda Rights of Annmarie Schulte, 37, were not violated by a Muskego detective when she was interviewed after a search warrant was executed at her home. Latest appearance by Annmarie Schulte puts case on hold for another month.
A 37-year-old Muskego woman facing multiple charges after she allegedly took sexually explicit pictures of a young girl and sent them to a man she met online has requested more time during her latest court appearance. Annmarie Schulte has requested an extension through her attorney to allow for more time for discovery. She had waived her right to a preliminary hearing earlier in October, and will be scheduled for another general hearing on January 18.
