This year's flu season is the worst in five years; how to know if you've really got the flu, and where to get a shot to make sure you don't
Influenza cases are on the rise throughout the entire country, and area schools and hospitals in Waukesha County are seeing a huge increase in the illness this year compared to last year. Muskego-Norway Schools seem to be immune, however. Superintendent Kelly Thompson told Muskego Patch that the increase from Jan. 2012 to 2013 for absentees has been only 0.6 percent. Flu cases in the Milwaukee area have increased to an “intense” level, significantly exceeding moderate levels in 2011-12, according to Google Flu Trends. Wisconsin is among 42 states to have a widespread flu outbreak, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. HSA Acquisitions will take ownership of the 25,000 square foot building, which will open later this fall.
As patients await the opening of the new Aurora clinic in Muskego, ownership of the building has changed from the developer, Boulder Venture LLC to HSA Acquisitions of Chicago. According to the Business Journal, HSA paid $3.7 million for the building that Aurora Health Care is leasing for an outpatient clinic. Ground was broken on the 25,000 square foot facility late last year after the city approved the plans in October of 2011. Aurora has a long-term lease for the building, which is next to Kohl’s department store at the northeast corner of Janesville Road and Moorland Road. The facility will open to patients this fall. ProHealth Care announces plans for extensive remodeling of clinic on Janesville Road.
According to a release, ProHealth Care is planning a $3 million renovation of the ProHealth Care Medical Associates clinic in Muskego. The renovation is said to "help meet increasing health care needs in the growing Muskego area. The project will involve remodeling the entire clinic, adding two exam rooms, four treatment rooms, new diagnostic equipment and a central imaging and lab area. The result will be a more efficient lay out and a more comfortable atmosphere for patients." However, a planned construction of an Aurora clinic, the second in Muskego, is also taking place just across Moorland Road, next to Kohl's Department Store.
