Muskego Bank Robbery Results in Felony Charge

Michael J. Wegge, 58, admitted to robbing several area banks, including two in Waukesha County, according to a criminal complaint.

A Waukesha man living at the Waukesha Salvation Army admitted robbing five southeastern Wisconsin banks – including one in Muskego – between 2008 and 2012, according to a criminal complaint. Michael J. Wegge, 58, was charged Friday in Waukesha County Circuit Court with robbing a Muskego bank in December 2008. Wegge and his twin brother, Patrick J. Wegge, were charged in 2012 with robbing banks in Oak Creek and New Berlin. Wegge also admitted to robbing Associated Bank in Greenfield in August 2008, Citizen’s Bank of Mukwonago in Muskego in December 2008 and Associated Bank in July 2012 in Lake Geneva, according to a criminal complaint filed on Friday. Bank Robbery in Muskego Finally Has Suspect

Four-year-old case gets a confession from a Madison man, who may also be linked to other cases in Milwaukee.

Muskego Police are reporting the break in a bank robbery case that is four years old. On Dec. 13, 2008, a man walked into Pick n Save and robbed the Mukwonago State Bank branch located inside. Reports at the time the robbery occurred indicated few hints to the suspect's identity other than that he was a white male in his 30s to 50s, and the car was a maroon four-door.   However a trail that had gone cold suddenly got new life. This past week, a Madison man confessed to committing this bank robbery as well as several others in the Milwaukee Metro area, according to Lt. Dave Constantineau.  No one had been injured in the robbery, and no weapon was presented, but implied. Witnessese then described the scene as 'chaotic' and 'scary.' The …
