Car Show proceeds help the Muskego Senior Taxi program and the Muskego Food Pantry
The Muskego Corvette Club met Wednesday evening and presented checks to two local nonprofits totaling $1,350. The Muskego Food Pantry and Muskego Senior Taxi each received $675 from the club, which raised funds during its annual car show, which was held in August. Bill Schneider and Julie Frahman were on hand to accept the donations for the Senior Taxi and Food Pantry, respectively. Senior Taxi provides low-cost rides to area seniors to get to appointments in and outside of the city, and has been in existence for about six years. The Muskego Food Pantry has seen its own numbers grow in response to a lagging economy. On a record-setting day, local runners led by Chris Pollack, who finished the race in 3:16:41, post solid finishes.
Muskego had 17 finishers in this year's Lakefront Marathon, which tracks from Grafton to Milwaukee's Veteran's Park. Chris Pollack led the Muskego runners with a finish of 3:16:41, pacing a 7:31 mile, and placing 12th in his division (45-49 year olds). He placed 159th overall in a field of 2,079 finishers. Kim Petak was the earliest finisher among the Muskego group, logging a time of 3:55:47 and a pace of nine minutes per mile. She placed 754th overall. In addition, finishers from Muskego included: Owen Kelpin, Dennis Hanna, Peter Stefaniak, Brenda Hojnacki, Jim Anderson, Eric Obarski, Thao Slonac, Eric Knasinski, Leigh Miller, Michael Lembezeder, Mary Joy Hubb, Mary Wysocki, Luai Tabbal, Amy Zembroski and Bill Schneider.
