Reader's Choice: Close Vote Leads to a Tough Call for Danny Haskell's as The Place for St. Patty's Day

With only one vote separating the top two vote-getters, we have to give the nod to Danny Haskell's based on reader comments.

The St. Patrick's Day poll has closed, and vote count alone would crown newcomer Finn McGuire's in Hales Corners as the choice for St. Patrick's Day revelry. However, in order to discount a few people voting repeatedly, we also stated that reader comments counted. Many of you jumped on the Danny Haskell's bandwagon early and enthusiastically, which ended up giving them the edge. The local bar and grill is located just across the road from Little Muskego Lake on Lannon Drive, and has an avid following year round, featuring events like Brewer games and community involvement. However, there are 24 hours in every day, March 17 included, so there is no law stating that all of our contestants can't be patronized on St. Patrick's Day. (Of course…

Vote for the Best St. Patrick's Day Spot in Town

You've tipped us off to a couple of places that you'll be tipping a hat (and a glass or two) in honor of St. Patrick's Day, and we've added a few others around town; what's your favorite?

With St. Patrick's Day falling on a Saturday this year, it's likely to be a big day of celebration, whether or not you're Irish (and isn't everyone on March 17?). In anticipation, we're polling our readers based in part on the preliminary comments and we've added a few selections of our own based on the festivities planned at various pubs in and around Muskego. You touted Sauced and Danny Haskell's, and we've also added Bushy's, High Tide, Matty's and Finn McGuires because of the events they have planned and the 'Irish-ness' that's likely to draw a robust crowd. The winner will be chosen by Patch editors, based on poll votes, comments and reviews in the Places directory. Like other polls, we are open to adding any selections we've missed…

Muskego Business Has a Full Plate

My Table Gallery succeeds in a quiet corner of the city

Despite a location that many residents of Muskego may not pass through often, Jessie Voss and her nearly-one-year-old business, My Table Handmade Pottery and Gift Gallery, has enjoyed a successful first year at its location near Highway 45 and 36. "I've technically been in business for 12 years, but opened the gallery officially on February 11, 2011, and we've been very, very blessed with the response," Voss said. Her notoriety increased as she was featured on the Rachel Ray show about 2 years ago. Recently awarded second place in the WISN A-list for best gift shops, Voss said she was thrilled with the result, especially considering competition like George Watts. In part, her fans have come from the contacts she's made at art shows, …

Muskego Chamber Congratulates City

Muskego Council made 'hard, but right' decision in moving forward with purchase of lake property, says Chamber

Members of the Muskego City Council faced a very challenging decision last night concerning potential lake property acquisition on Little Muskego Lake. While recognizing that opinions differ on the issue, the Muskego Area Chamber of Commerce believes the City Council made a hard but right decision on this matter by approving purchase of the property. The mission of the Muskego Area Chamber is to create prosperity and a vibrant community in order to make our lake community a destination for work, home and play. The City Council's vote on this matter is directly aligned to advancing this mission and vision for Muskego's future. We are thankful for the vote and for the civic-minded leadership it demonstrates. In stating our organization's …
