Former 'Lights' teen club will hear the sounds of praise and worship as Fox River Christian Church moves forward on plans to recreate the dance hall into a church
In relatively short order the long-vacant building at the corner of Tans Drive and Racine Avenue was granted permission to move forward and become the new satellite church for Fox River Christian Church in Waukesha. A brief public hearing yielded only one resident who came to voice his support for his new neighbors. "I'm definitely in favor of this - I think it's a good move, not that the previous owners were bad," said neighbor John Kronshage. "However, a church is always a good neighbor, so I say good luck and go for it." Fox River Christian Church has hopes to renovate the former 'Lights' Teen Club, but will need approval from Plan Commission; Moose Lodge, Muskego Firestone also ask for amendments to their sites

Public hearing will be held at Plan Commission meeting Feb. 5 for Fox River Christian Church
The opening of Lights Teen Club was quickly followed up by its closure, and since March of 2011, there's been little activity at the building at Racine Avenue and Tans Drive on Muskego's north side. However, it's possible a new owner could occupy the space, with Fox River Christian Church requesting to open in the building. A public hearing will be held to hear more about the plans from Robert Lodel of Groth Design group, which will renovate the interior to transform the dance hall and arcades into a worship space. The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 5 in the lower level Muskego Room of city hall during the Plan Commission meeting. See the attached images for the official notice and map.

If it were a prime piece of commercial corridor why don't we see more business's there? Fox River serves more than wine Brandon, they serve hurting people, by sharing God's message of forgiveness and grace. Their door is open to all without judgement. We serve the community, whether it is thru blood drives, food drives, delivering clothes to the homeless, and the list goes on. Just this past week…   more ›
