Edwin John Seybold of Muskego died Sunday, Dec. 2. at Wauskesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 75. John was born on November 4, 1937, son of the late Edwin and Agnes (Egan) Seybold of Forest Junction, WI. He was a graduate of Brillion High School, class of 1955. John was a prominent football player in high school and with the United States Marine Corps, which led to a professional football tryout with the Chicago Cardinals. He attended Compton College in California, class of 1958, and played semi-pro football for the Sheboygan Redwings (1959-1960), Manitowoc Chiefs (1961-1966 & 1968-1969), Racine Raiders and the West Allis Spartans (1970-1974). It was mixed emotions Friday at Oak Creek High School when thousands gathered to mourn the loss of six Sikhs gunned down Sunday in the Sikh Temple shooting. While there were many tears, the mood felt less like a sad funeral and more like a celebration of the selflessness each of the victims exhibited during their lives. Surjet Singh came all the way from Panaji, India to attend the funeral.
