No, it's not a scene for a new horror movie - it's the 2012 version of a fun walk to benefit to the Waukesha Food Pantry and HAWS.
It may have been a cold and wet Saturday afternoon, but that didn't stop nearly 100 people from coming out of their crypts to support the Waukesha Food Pantry and HAWS for the third annual "Zombie Walk" in downtown Waukesha. Zombie participants donated non-perishable food items and money to benefit the local organizations. In addition to the walk, members of the Aspire Dance Studio performed their rendition of Michael Jackson's "Thriller." Were you at the "Zombie Walk"? Then add your photos to this gallery.

Lots to learn about for all creatures great and small, who brought their owners out on a sunny Saturday afternoon
The Muskego Pet Fair had some competition on Saturday, as another community was also putting on the dog with Wagfest, however the weather and a caring bunch of residents and rescues alike made the second year of the event a success. Walgreen's sponsored the event at the corner of Janesville Road and Racine Avenue, and saw partners like HAWS, Yellow Brick Road Rescue, the Muskego Food Pantry and numerous other rescues come out to provide information, pet supplies and even offer an opportunity for pets to get their picture taken. Proceeds were shared with the area nonprofits. Got a great photo from the fair, or just want to share your pet's pic with Patch? Upload it to this article!

Interest has grown from last year's first appearance say organizers, and will include more vendors to provide information on safety, nutrition and health of your favorite furry friend.
Walgreen's at the corner of Racine Avenue and Janesville Road will again sponsor a Pet Fair on Saturday, September 8 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Last year's event was such a success and drew such interest from other vendors that organizer Chris March, a manager at Walgreen's, said this year's event promises to be even bigger. "We started by offering pet photos, and felt we should have something for people to do while they were waiting, so we invited HAWS (Humane Animal Welfare Society) to come out as well as other pet related businesses, and it was really well-received," March said. "This year, we have so many others joining in and we are expecting it to be much more expanded." Proceeds from the sale of photos and other fundraisers during the …

What a wonderful fun event. We had guests over and their quiet residential neighborhoods in the suburbs have never been invaded by the living dead. They will be back next year for more. Thanks to George, Holly, Sabrina and whoever else is responsible for this great even.   more ›
