Ash Wednesday Services in Muskego

Starting your Lenten journey? Here is when and where you can find Ash Wednesday services in the city

  The Christian season of Lent begins Wednesday, Feb. 13, and locally there are many opportunities to take part in Ash Wednesday services. Atonement Lutheran Church - 4pm and 7pm (chili supper 4:45 - 6:30) Bethel Lutheran - 7 p.m. Bethlehem Lutheran Church - 7 p.m. Lakepoint Chuch - 5:30-7 p.m. Lenten journey (20 minute sessions, ongoing), held at the Old Settlement Centre. Praise Fellowship - 6:30 regular worship St. Leonard's Catholic Church - St. Paul's Lutheran Church - 10 a.m., 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. There will be a soup supper at 5:15 p.m. Also nearby... What A Weekend!

Politics - a whole lot of them - and less serious subjects fill the calendar in this last weekend of March. Take a break from arguing and enjoy yourselves!

To say it's been an eventful week is a gross understatement, and the weekend isn't letting up any. So what's up? Friday - enjoy a great fish fry from among 15 or so candidates based on our fish fry poll of a few weeks ago Saturday March 31 - It's the last chance to participate in the 14th Annual Food Drive at Curves; they're looking to collect 2 tons of food for Muskego Food Pantry, and if you drop off a bag, you'll receive a discount on enrollment! Recall fever - this time, it's a signing drive at the former Spitzner's building next to Tess Corners Fire Department on Janesville Road beginning at 9 a.m. A local citizen's group will be out collecting signatures against Mayor Kathy Chiaverotti, 4th District Alderman Keith Werner and 6th …

Muskego Chamber Pleased at Response to Jammin on Janesville

Planning for its second year, Jammin organizers are seeing an enthusiastic response to the summer event.

It would have been a fair assessment to say that last year, the concept of a festival held along Janesville Road was a tough sell for some businesses. The road, which is poised for a major reconstruction, is not necessarily the prettiest thing Muskego has going for it. However, that was the point of staging events to draw crowds - and customers - to meet the businesses that would be impacted by road construction, and the success of 2011's events has led to a heightened interest in this year's planning.
