City, county and national races make for a full ballot on Tuesday; be informed before you head out and cast your ballot.
Unless you've been abroad (for example, interplanetary travel), you know that it will be time to head to the polls on Tuesday. We've listed information about the candidates in all contested races on our Election Central page. There are contested races in all three aldermanic districts. Incumbent Tracy Snead and Robert Wolfe will vie for the 1st District; Alderman Neil Borgman and challenger Larry Lefebvre will be on the District 3 ballot, and the 5th District will feature a race between incumbent Dan Soltysiak and John Engelhardt. Hundreds attend the investiture of appointed judge.
In emotional ceremony in front of hundreds of friends, family and local political leaders, Jennifer Dorow became the 18th judge to preside in the Waukesha County Circuit Court’s Branch II. Dorow, a local defense attorney who previously worked as an assistant district attorney in the Waukesha County district attorney’s office, told the community she would not have sought the appointment from Gov. Scott Walker without prayer. “I am thankful that through the years, many of you in this room have prayed for me diligently. Please, continue to do so,” Dorow said. “I am reminded of a verse from Micah, ‘He has shown you, oh man, what is good. What does the Lord require of you? Gov. Scott Walker appoints local defense attorney to vacant judicial position.
Jennifer Dorow is known throughout the Waukesha County Courthouse where she has gone before the bench as both a prosecutor and a defense attorney. But now she is taking on a new role as she was appointed to replace outgoing Judge Mark Gundrum, who recently was appointed to the Court of Appeals. “This is something that I have wanted to do for awhile,” said Dorow, who also has civil law experience from the beginning of her 15-year career as an attorney. “For me I see it as an opportunity to serve the citizens of Waukesha County and the state.” Gov.
