Eileen Madden Will Succeed Noah Fiedler in 7th District

Council voted in a 3-3 tie, but Mayor Kathy Chiaverotti broke it, stating the decision between Madden and attorney Deborah Tomczak was a tough call. Resident Larry Jansen was shut out in voting.

With only half of his term completed, Alderman Noah Fiedler will officially be an average citizen as of Friday. And his replacement was determined at Tuesday's Common Council meeting, where Eileen Madden, who served as alderman for the 7th District for six years before Fiedler, will again step into the seat for the remainder of the term. Madden told the council during an open interview process of the three candidates that the break from the council was a "nice respite," but she was ready to come back and serve the district again. She cited her involvement on the Veolia landfill siting committee, as well as her current position on its standing committee, as valuable experience in working with people to make tough decisions. Three Applicants Will Be Considered for 7th District Vacancy

Muskego's 7th District will see a new alderman Tuesday night, as the Common Council will consider three candidates to fill the remaining term of resigning Alderman Noah Fiedler. Fiedler tendered his resignation about a month ago, citing increased work and personal obligations that would prevent him from fulfilling the duties of alderman. The Committee of the Whole then approved a call for applicants to step into the position, which term expires in April of 2013. The following candidates (and their experience) will be considered for the seat: Larry Jansen With a financial background, including accounting, analysis, purchasing and sales, Jansen's employment has included positions as a senior accountant with the City of West Allis Water …

Muskego Family Sees 9/11 As Another Day to Pray

While their son serves another deployment in Iraq, father reconciles his own beliefs against violence with support for troops who have served since 9/11

Larry Jansen said while his brothers and his own son have served in the military, "it wasn't something I would do - I am a conscientious objector." However, his son Peter, a lance corporal in the Marines, will always have his support and prayers as he serves yet another deployment in Afghanistan.  Peter left a couple of weeks ago, and will return in March 2012, leaving about nine months of his active duty requirement. Peter was only 13 when America was attacked on September 11, and Larry said he didn't speak much about it, but shortly after he graduated from Muskego High School, "he said he was interested in joining the military, and would take another two years before he enlisted," according to Larry. Despite his own beliefs in avoiding …
