One Man's Trash: Estate Sale Draws Big Numbers in Muskego

Lake home built in 1954 was filled to the rafters of collected items in what some feel is the largest case of hoarding in years.

The treasure hunters began camping out at 6:30 a.m. Monday to get the first dibs on a houseful of items, collected by two brothers over decades and kept for who knows what purpose. The lake home located on Richdorf Drive in Muskego was in disrepair for many years, say neighbors, and only the recent passing of the owner Bob Sochurek, who lived with his brother Don in the home their parents built in 1954, allowed for the sale of its contents. Tom Ewart, owner of Open House Estate Sales, said the collection was varied and reflected the family's electronics business. Interest in the sale, which could be the largest of its kind in the state, is based on human nature and people's love of the past. "Really, anything nostalgic sells,"Ewart said. "…
