The official opening of the park on Muskego's north side came after a winter season that had many already using the park's sledding hill, but the inaugural baseball game that immediately followed ceremonies kept the party going
It's likely the park most talked about in Muskego is also at the moment its least used, but officials are eager to change all that, and it began Tuesday afternoon. The Chamber of Commerce was on hand to officially welcome the new park to the city with a ribbon cutting at 4:30 p.m., which was followed at 5:30 with the first game ever on the large baseball field by the Muskego Warriors U13 league against "northern rivals" the New Berlin Magic. Arthur Theisenheusen, for whom the park was named, passed away in 2000, but his son Arthur, who now lives in Waukesha with his wife Bonnie was on hand to observe the ceremony and said his dad would have been happy. "I think he'd say we was pleased at the park...he never wanted to see the land become …

Acquired in 1996, Park Arthur hasn't been ready for prime time until this season, and officials are excited to officially open the park during a ribbon cutting on Tuesday, May 14, postponed from May 7 because of rain
Editor's Note: this article was updated to reflect the new ribbon cutting date on May 14. There have been sneak peaks of portions of Park Arthur, which is situated on Muskego's north side between Martin Road and College Avenue, including an archery range and sledding hill. However, the big draw is expected to be the park's largest feature, the regulation-sized baseball diamond. Muskego Parks and Recreation has been collaborating with groups like Muskego Youth Baseball to construct the field, which includes 90-foot base paths, outfield fencing and (this year) lights. It will be only the second such field in the city, and is expected to alleviate the demand at Horn Field for league tournaments. The opening of the field, and for that matter …

Young Professionals group is ready to get growing, and hopes you've got time to spare - join them on May 1 at Alpine Lanes.
The best and brightest in Muskego's business climate are often some of its youngest, so the Muskego Chamber of Commerce has created a "satellite" group called Muskego's Young Professionals. The group's first event will be held at Alpine Lanes on Wednesday, May 1 at 5:30 p.m. and the $15 per person cost includes two games of bowling, "network bowling," and pizza. However, the casual environment doesn't detract from the intent of the group to connect those in their 20s and 30s to build their careers as well as their connections. However, no matter your age, Chamber members and others interested in learning more are encouraged to join them on the lanes to build their own network, and help the group grow. "We are really excited to launch this …

A new pin for 2013 aims to save residents money while keeping the customers coming for Muskego businesses
The Randy Roadbot pin has been a popular fixture on many a lapel around the past couple of summers in Muskego as the mascot for Jammin' on Janesville. However the 2013 version will also employ the use of technology along with the iconic orange barrel man. At first seeming like a random black squiggle, anyone with a smart phone will likely recognize the QR code on the new pin. QR, which stands for quick response, is a scannable symbol that will direct you to a website. No doubt you've noticed these symbols in print advertising, and it's a way to connect people on the go to company websites. With a QR app on your smart phone - they can be downloaded for free - you simply point the phone at the symbol and scan. In this case, you will be …
