The National Retail Federation says 2012 Father’s Day spending is expected to be up 10 percent over last year, with the average person spending $117. Total spending nationally is expected to reach $12.7 billion, meaning consumers are ready to spend more this Father’s Day than ever before. You know you've achieved some objectivity when two opposing sides accuse you of being in favor of the other. Case in point, the proposed development on the lake. I've said I'm in favor of getting more information on the land and that is what the current process is about. I've also said if the price isn't right, and the parties can't reach an agreement, I do believe Muskego will still exist as a city. Tuesday night (Jan 24) represents the fifth time a public input session is being made available on this topic, and those with an opinion, any opinion, is allowed to speak. This is the second year that American Express is looking to support the small businesses that often get overlooked on Black Friday with Small Business Saturday. However, I'd like to go a step further and say why not keep Black Friday from becoming black-and-blue Friday by skipping the madness of the big boxes and opting for one of many options less than five miles from most homes in Muskego? The parking hassle won't exist, quantities likely won't be limited and the service is more personal and friendly.
