Post Office Helps Muskego Food Pantry Stamp Out Hunger with a Mountain of Food

Volunteers have their hands full sorting through hundreds of bags delivered from the Muskego Post Office, which held their Stamp Out Hunger drive on May 11

It's a happy problem to have if you're in the business of collecting food for families in need. A literal mountain of bags filled with food donations rested in the warehouse at the Muskego Food Pantry on Thursday, with volunteers looking on with an overwhelmed expression on their faces. "It's amazing, isn't it?" said volunteer Wendy Gajewski. "All from Saturday...so, we've got our hands full." While an estimate of the poundage of food was not yet available, food pantry director Julie Frahmann said the response was impressive. The Stamp Out Hunger drive put bags in the hands of postal route customers to fill and leave at their mailboxes on Saturday, May 11. Closed for the Holiday: Who's Taking Five on the Fourth

City Hall will not be open, and here are several others that you should take note of.

Enjoy the 4th of July holiday in Muskego, but don't plan on stopping into these places, as they will be closed: Muskego City Hall - closing at regular time on Tuesday, July 3 (4:30 p.m.), and will reopen on Thursday, July 5 at 8 a.m. Muskego Public Library - closing at 8 p.m. Tuesday, and reopening on Thursday, July 5 at 9 a.m. Muskego Post Office - will have its lobby for postal box customers open, but no counter service and no mail delivery on Wednesday, July 4; they will reopen on Thursday at 8 a.m. Aldi's - closes at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, and will reopen on Thursday at 9 a.m.

Closed for the Holiday: Where NOT to Go This Memorial Day Weekend

Taking off for the long weekend? So are these community locations, so be advised.

It's the unofficial start to summer, so everyone's taking off including these area services: Muskego City Hall: regular hours (8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) on Friday, May 25, but closed on Monday, May 28 and resuming regular hours again on Tuesday. Muskego Department of Public Works: same hours as city hall, but note if you have issues (i.e., concerns about water), please contact the Muskego Police Department on their non-emergency line, 262-679-4130. Muskego Public Library - Closed Saturday, May 26 through Monday May 26 Muskego Post Office - open on Saturday 8 a.m. until noon and there will be Saturday delivery, but not on Monday, May 28.
