Mid-Winter Excitement for Green Market in Muskego

It's rare to get a consensus on any topic, but readers loved the idea of a farmers or green market in Muskego. Take the poll to weigh in on where you think it should be.

Residents Shannon Barbian and Sharon Hopp are working on the idea of bringing a farmers market to Muskego, and asked poll residents on where such a market would be best suited.  Note parking lots may seem like great locations, but it's ultimately up to the owners on granting permission. The lot where the Post Office, Chamber of Commerce and other businesses are located has already been ruled out by that property's owner. The old Parkland Mall site is also off the table. Barbian told Muskego Patch the day/hours for a market would likely be Thursdays from 3 to 7 p.m. to avoid conflict for vendors who are already over-booked on Saturdays. I have long wanted to see a farmers market here in Muskego. I think the parking lot on Racine by the Piggly Wiggly would be a great spot. The lot is large and doesn't seem to see the traffic pressure that some lots on Janesville do. Also, this space won't be affected by the road construction planned for this summer along Janesville Rd.   more ›
