Delish! New American Grill officially opens on Friday, but the new cafe offering high-end beef and unique side dishes was serving food on Wednesday.
In a soft opening on Wednesday, Delish! New American Grill owners and the cooks were already able to point to three most ordered burgers on the menu: Blue Ribbon, Wisconsin and California burgers. Owner Tracy Horan said all meat used in the burgers is ground fresh and hand pattied, and features a mixture of high-end sirloin and ground chuck. "Not you're typical fast food, hockey puck type of burger," Horan said. Even the side dish isn't run-of-the-mill, she said: rather than serve the burgers with fries, patrons get "taytees," which is basically a tator tot and hashbrown hybrid. Built directly behind a nearly 100-year-old structure, the new Young's Auto Body is open and now visible as former blacksmith shop comes down.
The humble white brick building along Janesville Road had been many things over the past 100 years or so. Most recently, it was Young's Auto Body for the past 35 years, and as the new building was completed, it was just in the way. Crews got to work yesterday on demolishing the familiar building, which Don Young, owner, said had been a blacksmith shop originally before becoming a car dealership. "They made square nails and fitted horseshoes for the area farmers," he explained. Young's broke ground in January for the new auto body facility, which more than doubled their footprint next to Johnny's Petroleum, and enables them to service more vehicles. HSA Acquisitions will take ownership of the 25,000 square foot building, which will open later this fall.
As patients await the opening of the new Aurora clinic in Muskego, ownership of the building has changed from the developer, Boulder Venture LLC to HSA Acquisitions of Chicago. According to the Business Journal, HSA paid $3.7 million for the building that Aurora Health Care is leasing for an outpatient clinic. Ground was broken on the 25,000 square foot facility late last year after the city approved the plans in October of 2011. Aurora has a long-term lease for the building, which is next to Kohl’s department store at the northeast corner of Janesville Road and Moorland Road. The facility will open to patients this fall.
