New Library Director Looks to Keep Up With Changes

Demands have changed over the years, but new director Pete Loeffel says libraries will always be center points for their communities, if they're responsive to needs.

Pete Loeffel doesn't look like a guy who would have nearly 18 years' experience in libraries, but the youthful new director of the Muskego Public Library has served at the St. Francis Public Library, and also held a post in Shorewood as their library's tech manager, before taking the helm here. Loeffel met with Patch on Wednesday, and he said Muskego's Library has a lot going for it. "This is a beautiful facility, and it's located close to the heart of the community," Loeffel said."The city itself has a lot to offer as well, with a wealth of recreational facilities." A New Chapter for Muskego Public Library

Library board names new director, who served as director in St. Francis.

Pete Loeffel has been named as the Muskego Public Library's new director. He succeeds Jane Genzel, who resigned from the post to resume her duties in reference. Loeffel previously served as director of the St. Francis Public Library, and also held a post in Shorewood as their library's tech manager. He brings almost 20 years of library experience, and was chosen from a field of 14 candidates. Library Board president Josephine DeVito-Scalzo told Muskego NOW that  Loeffel has demonstrated leadership, has a strong personnel management style and is skilled in working with people.
