The Five Most Interesting People of 2012

I have had the privilege of meeting many of you; whether it was a brief conversation, or an ongoing observation over the course of the year, these are my picks for those people who made things happen in Muskego.

I'm humbled whenever I consider the position I have. I get to tell your stories, whether it's crime, fire, personal triumph, or even just a fun weekend activity that brings a smile to kids' faces.  This is not a scientific list, nor indicative of how well I may have gotten to know people personally; it's just my observation of who always seemed to 'be there' when something was happening in the community. There is also no meaning to the order, so don't read into it. 1. Suzi Link - folks either love her or hate her, but I have to admit she shows up. A lot of long Common Council meetings during much of the year would have worn others out, but Link has been a perennial presence to argue her point and to make sure the aldermen take the public …

Denise - That always confuses me too! I understand that all of us have very full plates. Fortunately, not all issues strike a chord for each Muskego resident. For the issues that do get our respective hearts pumping, however, we have to make the effort to state our opinions in the appropriate setting to have a constructive impact. (I realize that standing up in front of a group is intimidating …   more ›

Muskego Business Receives Industry Award

InPro receives recognition for development of 'green' product for wall structures and guards.

It seems that InPro Corporation hasn't gotten the memo of a lagging economy.  Along with a recent expansion in Muskego, the company has now garnered an award from Architectural Products magazines. In other words, green It also holds an National Fire Protection Association Class 1 fire rating, and also holds the GREENGUARD® …

Letters to the Editor

Muskego Entrepreneur Puts Support Behind School Referendum

Former principal and current Muskego businessman explains his change of heart over school referendum.

To the Editor: Many people in the Muskego area know me as the President of InPro Corporation.  What most don’t know is that in my first career I served as the principal for 15 years at three elementary schools in Waukesha and West Allis; Randall, Heyer and Jefferson Schools.  During those years I led the schools as much like a business as I could, realizing that the tax dollars that supported our efforts were precious and needed to be guarded with passion.  It has always been my opinion that great educators can teach our children in most environments and the age of the building was secondary.  That is why I didn’t get on board with the Muskego – Norway School District building referendum last year.  On the other hand, I really didn’t make …

I am sure you all know Mr. P is a school board member and part of the so called "slick marketing" Simple...I have outrage for not only this referendum, but the lake park as well and I have voiced myself on both. I don't think we are being heard by our alderman or our new mayor, definitely not the school board. We spoke once and are now being forced to vote once again...we already said NO !   more ›

InPro to Purchase Wiza Building in Muskego Business Park

The goal will be to expand space and return marketing and other operations to Muskego from a facility in New Berlin.

InPro Corporation, headquartered on Apollo Drive in the Muskego Business Park, has purchased the former WIZA Industries, LLC building. The 200,000 sq. ft. facility that held the machine shop is located across from InPro’s main plant.  WIZA had filed for Chapter 128 protection in 2009 and was acquired by World Class Manufacturing of Weyauwega, Wis., in 2010, according to a release from InPro. The building was in foreclosure when it was acquired by InPro for an undisclosed amount. “This acquisition sets us up for a return to a center point in Muskego for our Wisconsin operations,” said Phil Ziegler, InPro’s president. “Our goal is to eventually bring our Decorative Surfaces, Engineered Metals and Marketing team back to Muskego.” InPro moved …
