Athletes Sign for Scholarships

Mary O'Connor and Renee Bennett are headed to college to play their respective sports, but hard work and dedication paved the way.

Wednesday was national letter of intent signing day, and Muskego athletes Mary O'Connor and Renee Bennett took the opportunity to celebrate by signing their own letters to attend college on 'full ride' scholarships. O'Connor is an outside hitter on Muskego High School's Volleyball team, and according to her mom Sue, it's a simple matter of determination. "Since she's been a freshman, she's had a goal of playing for a Division I school, and it's so good to see that all of her hard work has paid off," she said. Coach Karen Anderson said, "Mary's been a huge contributor and a leader for us, and was really instrumental in our success this year." O'Connor's stats include a team-leading 312 kills, and contributed 73 blocks. She was named 1st …

MHS Senior Athlete Collecting D1 Scholarships

Renee Bennett has had a busy summer, playing basketball and picking up scholarships from Division 1 Schools along the way.

(editor's note: thanks to parents like Margo, we are passing along this great accomplishment from a local athlete.) Muskego High School's Renee Bennett was considered a key player on last year's Warriors squad that went 10-4 in the tough Southeast Conference before falling to Middleton in the sectional finals. The 6-3 center was averaged just over 6 points per game on her way to Honorable Mention All-Conference recognition. On the road currently with Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) team WI Playground Elite, and according to mom Margo "working her butt off," Bennett has also received the attention of three Division 1 schools.
