Former State Sen. Ted Kanavas announced today he will not run for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Herb Kohl. In an email to supporters, Kanavas said while he has received strong support, competing for campaign funds with other candidates such as former Gov. Tommy G. Thompson would be difficult. "I am extremely appreciative of the support and honest feedback I received from people across the state; I am inspired by their resilience and hard work," Kanavas said. "However, today, I am announcing that I will not be pursing the Republican nomination for the United States Senate.
