Former vice-presidential candidate Paul Ryan said Obamacare was doomed to fail, as he spoke at a Racine Tea Party event on Sunday.
In Paul Ryan’s first appearance in his home state, and the 1st Congressional District, since his failed vice presidential bid, the Republican congressman took aim squarely at Obamacare — and warned that if changes aren’t made, insurance and the health-care system will fall apart. Ryan was the headlining speaker at a Racine Tea Party event Sunday afternoon in Caledonia. Addressing the Racine Tea Party at a forum on health care, Rep. Paul Ryan, State Rep. Robin Vos and State Sen. Leah Vukmir told the crowd in Racine County on Sunday it's time for them to take action if they want to see the Affordable Care Act repealed.
Expressing their disdain for the Affordable Health Care Act, Rep. Paul Ryan and other state Republicans Sunday evangelized their anti-Obamacare message and asked the Racine Tea Party faithful to go out and spread the message that it isn’t working. Vice presidential candidates' wives Jill Biden and Janna Ryan make stops in Waukesha Saturday - as do Democratic Senate candidate Tammy Baldwin, U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson and RNC Chairman Reince Priebus.
Waukesha was the epicenter of the state and national political scene Saturday as Democratic and Republican candidates and their surrogates visited the city to encourage volunteers to make the final push for votes in the Nov. 6 election. Democratic Senate candidate Tammy Baldwin and Jill Biden, wife of Vice President Joe Biden, were at President Barack Obama’s campaign office in downtown Waukesha. Sen. Ron Johnson urged voters to reject the policies of the Obama Administration, during the only Southeast Wisconsin stop of the Americans for Prosperity bus tour. During his remarks at Gorney Park on Saturday, Johnson told voters they need to take America back by "retiring President (Barack) Obama in about 60 days." He stressed the ways he feels Obama has failed the American people, including the inability to get a budget passed in the Senate for over three years. Tea Party groups across the state, and even some county Republican parties, don't just support one Republican candidate for US Senate.
Mark Neumann's recent endorsement by the Tea Party Express probably made it look like he is the one and only Tea Party candidate going into Tuesday's senate primary. Don't be so sure. The reason the TPE threw their lot in with Neumann was because he claims he understands what's wrong in Washington and how to fix it. “Mark Neumann is a proven fiscal conservative,” said Amy Kremer, who founded the organization that is now the the nation’s largest Tea Party political action committee. “He understands Washington is the problem, not the answer… Mark will be the next senator from Wisconsin. The Tea Party Express plans to put some of its resources and political muscle into Wisconsin in the coming days to support candidate Mark Neumann in the Republican primary for the open U.S. Senate seat. Amy Kremer, chairman of the group, which is the nation’s largest tea party political action committee, made a trip to Wisconsin Friday to formally endorse Neumann at campaign stops in Milwaukee, Green Bay and Madison. With a little more than a week to go until Wisconsin's gubernatorial recall election, a national tea party group on Monday released a TV ad in which the son of President Ronald Reagan invokes the memory of his father while giving his strong support to Gov. Scott Walker. Groups say they plan legal challenge after being told Wisconsin's election board won't accept their findings on validity of recall petitions.
Verify the Recall, an effort backed by Tea Party groups to ensure the validity of petition signatures in Wisconsin's recall elections, is now 13,000 volunteers strong and organizers say one signature is being checked every 2.7 seconds. Ross Brown, founder of We The People of the Republic, said Verify the Recall has gathered enough evidence in its vetting process to possibly put the brakes on the attempted recall of Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald (R-Juneau).
