Former vice-presidential candidate Paul Ryan said Obamacare was doomed to fail, as he spoke at a Racine Tea Party event on Sunday.
In Paul Ryan’s first appearance in his home state, and the 1st Congressional District, since his failed vice presidential bid, the Republican congressman took aim squarely at Obamacare — and warned that if changes aren’t made, insurance and the health-care system will fall apart. Ryan was the headlining speaker at a Racine Tea Party event Sunday afternoon in Caledonia. Focused on the Affordable Care Act — commonly referred to as Obamacare — he and other speakers told the crowd of about 300 what was wrong with the law. They said even though Democrats still hold the White House, Republicans are committed to fighting it. Read more about Sunday’s Racine Tea Party event. Ryan called the law “fundamentally flawed” in both its conception and …

Addressing the Racine Tea Party at a forum on health care, Rep. Paul Ryan, State Rep. Robin Vos and State Sen. Leah Vukmir told the crowd in Racine County on Sunday it's time for them to take action if they want to see the Affordable Care Act repealed.
Expressing their disdain for the Affordable Health Care Act, Rep. Paul Ryan and other state Republicans Sunday evangelized their anti-Obamacare message and asked the Racine Tea Party faithful to go out and spread the message that it isn’t working. One by one, notable Republicans got up in front of the roughly 300 people gathered at the Racine Tea Party Healthcare Forum at South Hills Country Club in Caledonia. In turn, they each dissected the health-care law and said how the American people made a decision in November they may come to regret. Headlining speaker Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Janesville, called the law “fundamentally flawed” in its conception and implementation, and said it is doomed to fail. “Obamacare is too overarching and it runs …

Johnson made his remarks as one of the conservatives participating in the Americans for Prosperity Anti-Obama Policy bus tour. The tour visited Caledonia on Saturday, its only stop in Southeast Wisconsin.
Sen. Ron Johnson urged voters to reject the policies of the Obama Administration, during the only Southeast Wisconsin stop of the Americans for Prosperity bus tour. During his remarks at Gorney Park on Saturday, Johnson told voters they need to take America back by "retiring President (Barack) Obama in about 60 days." He stressed the ways he feels Obama has failed the American people, including the inability to get a budget passed in the Senate for over three years. "It's insane that there's been no budget in three years," he said. "The last two budgets were voted on twice with votes of 0 to 610. We are bankrupting this nation and the President put forward unserious plans so even the Democrats won't vote for it." About 75 people gathered …

Tea Party groups across the state, and even some county Republican parties, don't just support one Republican candidate for US Senate.
Mark Neumann's recent endorsement by the Tea Party Express probably made it look like he is the one and only Tea Party candidate going into Tuesday's senate primary. Don't be so sure. The reason the TPE threw their lot in with Neumann was because he claims he understands what's wrong in Washington and how to fix it. “Mark Neumann is a proven fiscal conservative,” said Amy Kremer, who founded the organization that is now the the nation’s largest Tea Party political action committee. “He understands Washington is the problem, not the answer… Mark will be the next senator from Wisconsin. I firmly believe that.” Another Tea Party PAC - Wisconsin Liberty - also came out in support of Mark Neumann. In a press release issued Monday, Neumann is …

Tea Party Express Chairman Amy Kremer says her organization will devote time and money to helping Neumann win the Aug. 14 GOP primary.
The Tea Party Express plans to put some of its resources and political muscle into Wisconsin in the coming days to support candidate Mark Neumann in the Republican primary for the open U.S. Senate seat. Amy Kremer, chairman of the group, which is the nation’s largest tea party political action committee, made a trip to Wisconsin Friday to formally endorse Neumann at campaign stops in Milwaukee, Green Bay and Madison. At the Milwaukee County War Memorial stop Friday morning, Kremer said Neumann has proven he "will fight for what's right and stand on principle" and he understands what she calls the "problems" in Washington. "We believe that he is the true conservative that can win this seat and go to Washington to represent the people," …

Wisconsin GOP, Thompson Blast Baldwin on New Medicare Ad Democratic Senate candidate Tammy Baldwin's latest ad, which rails against cuts to Medicare and Social Security, is drawing cries of dishonesty from Republicans. In the ad, titled "Rock," Baldwin says her upbringing by her grandparents taught her the value of those programs for the elderly. "When people in Washington talk about slashing Medicare benefits instead of asking millionaires to pay their fair share, I know it's wrong," Bladwin says in the ad. Republicans were quick to respond. After the ad was released Monday, the…

Tea party group's latest ad features son of Ronald Reagan comparing Gov. Scott Walker to conservative icon.
With a little more than a week to go until Wisconsin's gubernatorial recall election, a national tea party group on Monday released a TV ad in which the son of President Ronald Reagan invokes the memory of his father while giving his strong support to Gov. Scott Walker. In the ad, paid for by the Campaign To Defeat Barack Obama, Michael Reagan, a conservative commentator, compares Wisconsin's Republican governor to his father and even uses the phrase: "Win this one for the Gipper." "We need leaders like Scott Walker," Reagan says in the ad. "He's a reminder of somebody named Reagan from a long time ago. "Scott Walker, because of what he's doing, has turned a negative into a positive — bringing businesses back into Wisconsin (and) getting …

Groups say they plan legal challenge after being told Wisconsin's election board won't accept their findings on validity of recall petitions.
Verify the Recall, an effort backed by Tea Party groups to ensure the validity of petition signatures in Wisconsin's recall elections, is now 13,000 volunteers strong and organizers say one signature is being checked every 2.7 seconds. Ross Brown, founder of We The People of the Republic, said Verify the Recall has gathered enough evidence in its vetting process to possibly put the brakes on the attempted recall of Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald (R-Juneau). And that’s just the start. Volunteers now are moving on to the reviewing the petitions seeking to recall Republican Gov. Scott Walker. But will their efforts all go for naught? According to the Government Accountability Board, which oversees elections in Wisconsin, they just…
