Suspected Theft at Kohl's Leaves Shopper Without Cash, Cards and Medications

Woman reports her purse was stolen while shopping, and there is more than money to replace.

A tale of caution to holiday shoppers played out at a local retailer: keep your wallet and purse in sight at all times. Muskego Police were called to Kohl's Department Store on Nov. 29 after a shopper and several store employees were unable to recover a purse the woman had lost in the store. According to reports, a 52-year-old woman from Eagle, WI, was shopping in the store and realized 40 minutes into her trip that she had set her purse down. A search by the woman and other employees came up empty, and police were also unable to locate the purse. The contents included $450 in cash, 12 credit cards, one debit card and three bottles of prescription medications. In addition, reports state that the bag was worth about $280.  The woman told …

Left-Behind Wallet Leads to Charges of Burglary

Three Muskego men are charged with burglary of Norway home after one of their wallets is discovered at the scene.

Three Muskego men are accused of breaking into a Town of Norway home and stealing electronics, after one of their wallets was found at the scene of the crime, say police. Joshua J. Kerber, 18, Tyler J. Quineones, 19, and Steven J. Paulus, 20, were charged in Racine County Circuit Court Tuesday with one count of burglary each. If convicted, they each face up to 7 1/2 years in prison and $25,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: On Oct. 2, 2011, a woman was watching her sister's home in the 7200 block of Ashwood Lane and she left for a couple of hours and came back to find someone had broken into the home. Duo Facing Charges for Theft of $1800 in DVDs from Walmart

Police reports say the pair stuffed backpacks with movies and tossed them over garden center gates over a period of a couple days.

Muskego Police were investigating a shoplifting call at Walmart only to find the suspects involved had been stealing from the store on an earlier occasion, according to reports. The suspects were arrested on Sept. 3 after officers reviewed video from the loss prevention manager at Walmart from the day prior. Upon arresting the pair, a 20-year-old woman and 25-year-old man from Milwaukee, the woman stated that they had done this before. Police reviewed further video from August 30, and it revealed that the couple used backpacks in their carts to place nearly at least two dozen DVDs in them. Woman Charged for Bilking Meat Company Out of $28k

Muskego woman, 42, is accused of pocketing cash payments made to the company by customers, then sending second invoices to customers.

A 42-year-old Muskego woman is accused of taking more than $28,000 from a New Berlin meat company while working there as a secretary. Susan Koleta Peavy was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Thursday with one count of theft of more than $10,000 from a business. If convicted, she faces up to five years in prison and $25,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: On Feb. 7, a vice-president of Prtizlaff Wholesale Meats Inc., 17025 W. Glendale Drive, New Berlin, got a phone call from China House restaurant in Racine, saying they received a bill for a January order. China House said it paid for the meat bill with cash to the driver and didn't owe what the invoice said. The report stated the vice-president checked logs and saw …

Crime Corner: Gas Thief Being Sought

A red Dodge Caravan has been associated with several gas drive offs, and police are asking residents to be aware

Muskego Police received a report on Sept. 17 at 10:16 a.m. of a drive off from  Jetz Convenience Store.  A red Dodge Caravan driven by a white male in his 20’s left without paying and since then has struck twice at Jetz. The car has a Wisconsin license plate of 886-PLP, however, it appears to be altered. In addition, here are other incidents from this week's police blotter: Friday, Sept. 14 – Saturday, Sept. 15 – Sunday, Sept. 16 – Monday, Sept. 17 – Tuesday, Sept. 18 – A 47 year old Wind Lake woman was arrested and charged with shoplifting at Walmart.

Drunken Muskego Man Charged With Waukesha Thefts

A 22-year-old Muskego man is facing charges after Waukesha police officers found him laying in the road a drunken mess while carrying stolen pills and a GPS. Anthony L. Pyszczynski  was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Wednesday with two counts of theft, one count of possession of an illegally obtained prescription and one count of disorderly conduct. If convicted, he faces up to 27 months in prison and $21,500 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: At 4:56 p.m. March 24, Waukesha police were called to the intersection of Delafield Street and Summit Street after someone reported an intoxicated man who may have fallen down. Perhaps it's youthful wisdom to think if you're drinking outside, you won't get caught, but a number of arrests made over the past two weeks prove that theory wrong.

Theft is a common theme in the past two weeks' worth of crime incidences from MPD, whether from store shelves or your own front yard.

Friday, May 25 – A 53 year old Florida woman was arrested for shoplifting at Kohl’s Department Store. Saturday, May 26 – Monday, May 28 – Tuesday, May 29 – A business in the W18400 block of Saturn Dr. was burglarized. Thursday, May 31 – Cars in the S7000 block of Cornell Cir. and S7400 Durham Dr. were vandalized with spray paint overnight. Friday, June 1 - Saturday, June 2 – Sunday, June 3 – Tuesday, June 5 – Wednesday, June 6 – Thursday, June 7 - Friday, June 8 – A resident in the S10700 block of Muskego Dam Rd. called to complain that her neighbor’s chickens continually go into her yard and eat her grass seed.
