Crime Corner: McDrunk at the Drive Through

Muskego McDonald's is not the place to drive if you've had a few too many.

This week's neighborhood watch crime report includes another incident where drivers under the influence never made it out of McDonald's drive-through. The restaurant has made at least two previous calls in the past year resulting in the arrest of drivers under the influence. Friday, August 24 – An 18 year old Muskego woman and 14 year old Mauston girl were arrested for shoplifting at Kohl’s Department Store.   Saturday, August 25 –   Sunday, August 26 –   Monday, August 27 –   Tuesday, August 28 – An odor of burning marijuana led to the arrest of a 46 year old Muskego woman for possession of marijuana in the S7800 block of Overlook Bay Rd. School's Out: Police Note Instances of Underage Drinking

Perhaps it's youthful wisdom to think if you're drinking outside, you won't get caught, but a number of arrests made over the past two weeks prove that theory wrong.

After a week hiatus from the blotter, Muskego Police Lt. Dave Constantineau catches us up with the most recent incidences requiring their attention the past two weeks. Friday, June 15 – Sunday, June 17 – Monday June 18 – Tuesday, June 19 – A vehicle was damaged while parked in a parking lot in the S7900 block of Durham Dr. Wednesday, June 20 – An officer stopping to check on the welfare of a 20 year old Muskego woman walking in the area of Martin Dr. and Hardtke Dr. at 2:45a.m., resulted in the woman being cited for underage drinking. Teens, Young Adults Keep Police Busy

This week's police blotter features a theme where those caught in the act were in their mid 20s and under, and school is not even out of session yet.

Friday, May 18 – An 18 year old Manitowoc man was arrested for shoplifting at Kohl’s Department Store. His companions, a 23 year old Fredric man, and a 22 year old man from Osceola, were not charged. Saturday, May 19 – Sunday, May 20 – A resident reported a possible prowler in the S7600 block of Conrad Ct. The suspect used a ladder to knock on a bedroom window. The area was checked, no one located, however, a suspect has been identified. On May 22nd a homeowner in the W14000 block reported the theft of his 44 ft. extension ladder which had been recovered on Conrad Ct. The ladder was returned. Wednesday, May 23 –

Arrest of Underage Drinkers Leads to Call for Responsibility in Prom Season

Several reports lead to arrests of teens for underage drinking, as police remind parents and kids that absolute sobriety should be followed in upcoming prom, and what real responsibility means.

Muskego Police made several arrests in the past week for underage drinking, and issued a timely message on responsible celebrations in the height of prom season. Muskego Police Lt. Dave Constantineau said prom, which is Saturday for Muskego High School, is a time when "we, as parents, get to see how nicely our kids can clean up; and when we finally begin to realize that they really are growing up. But growing up comes with grown up responsibilities that we have to make sure our kids understand. Unfortunately, some kids, and parents, believe it is normal and acceptable to celebrate prom with alcohol," he said.
