Narcotics, Bail Jumping Among Many Charges Against Man Involved in Muskego Incident

Muskego Police arrested Daveto Wise for possession of narcotics and bail jumping in March of 2012, but prior charges in Milwaukee County and additional charges for theft in Sussex mean lot of court time ahead.

A Brown Deer man already charged over a spending spree with a Sussex woman's credit cards picked up additional charges of narcotics possession and bail jumping in Waukesha County Court last week for a separate incident almost one year ago. According to the criminal complaint: Muskego Police were initially called to the home of a Muskego family on March 23, 2012, after they reported their daughter took their vehicle without permission. After she returned to their home without the vehicle, she told police Daveto Wise, 18, had taken the vehicle. Police had located him on March 25, and Wise told them he was unaware of the vehicle's whereabouts. He was arrested on March 31 after he was found with the stolen vehicle, according to reports. Tess Corners rescue arrived on scene and were able to resuscitate the man, but he now is facing multiple charges of drug possession in Waukesha County Circuit Court.  According to the criminal complaint: Police arrived on the scene of Joseph Plemons' home shortly after midnight, and after the man was resuscitated, they spoke with his wife, who said she found a heroin cooker and cap for a syringe on their dresser. @ Sanchez I don't blame the gun, I don't blame the car or the spoon. I blame the miss use of these things. A lid may choose to get high for fun or because his buddies are doing it and then the drugs becomes, no longer a choice. It becomes a need... Incest Case Moves to Trial, No Plea Entered Yet

A Muskego man is charged with assaulting his sister, who has since filed a temporary restraining order against him; trial date has been set for March 5

A disturbing case of incest out of Big Bend involving a Muskego man and his sister will go to trial March 5. However, the defendant, who is charged with one count of incest and one count of attempted incest, has again delayed entering a plea in the case.  Earlier attempts by the defense to reduce his $10,000 cash bond had been denied by the court. A hearing on Tuesday proved fruitless as the defense again requested more time to enter a plea, however Judge William Domina moved the case forward without a plea, giving them until the Feb. 28 jury status hearing to do so. According to the criminal complaint, the suspect — who isn’t being named by Patch in order to protect the identity of the victim — went drinking with his sister on Aug. 1 at a…

The fact is, is that this is incest! Regardless of consent or lack thereof. Incest is defined as sexual contact with a blood related person. I won't go into the whole second cousin thing, because as siblings, this is as close as you can get. I believe the charge is correct.   more ›

Skout Sex Assault Defendant Gets 4 Years Prison for Child Pornography

Daniel R. Schmidt, 21, of Waukesha, tells Judge Donald Hassin he prays every night that God can forgive him for his actions.

Struggling to understand how their son could commit so many horrific crimes, Daniel R. Schmidt’s family begged Waukesha County Circuit Judge Donald Hassin Jr. on Monday to show Schmidt leniency as Hassin sentenced him to prison. Schmidt, 21, of Waukesha, will spend four years in prison for his conviction on two counts of possessing child pornography and one count of eluding police. Hundreds of pornographic images involving children – including of a toddler – were found on his computer via a search warrant after he fled from the Waukesha Police Department. “It is horrific – images that stay with one for a very long time,” said Assistant District Attorney Debra Blasius. With drug use, drug delivery and a high-speed car chase thrown into the …

"struggling to understand why their son could commit so many horrific crimes..." Stop struggling, here's the answer: the sin of mankind. The Bible says in the book of Romans, all of us have sinned against God, and there is no one righteous, not one. The wages of sin is death. But God demonstrated His own love for us in this; while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. What we ALL need to do is…   more ›

Waukesha County Court Commissioner Suspended for Five Days

Waukesha County Circuit Court Commissioner Linda Georgeson was suspended for reasons that did not involve her work on the bench or in any case, according to Chief Judge J. Mac Davis.

A Waukesha County Circuit Court commissioner was suspended five days for disciplinary reasons, according to Chief Judge J. Mac Davis. The commissioner, Linda Georgeson, who was first appointed in 1991, also took medical leave after her suspension, so her powers are being suspended until she returns, probably in about five weeks, Davis said after being contacted by Patch about the incident. Davis declined to say why he suspended Georgeson last week. Patch attempted to reach Georgeson, but no voicemail was set up at a number listed to her. "It did not involve any misconduct or inappropriate behavior on the bench or with a case," Davis said. Retired Court Commissioner Martin Binn has agreed to handle some of her calendar. The suspension was …

Jennifer Dorow Sworn in as Waukesha County's Newest Judge

Hundreds attend the investiture of appointed judge.

In emotional ceremony in front of hundreds of friends, family and local political leaders, Jennifer Dorow became the 18th judge to preside in the Waukesha County Circuit Court’s Branch II. Dorow, a local defense attorney who previously worked as an assistant district attorney in the Waukesha County district attorney’s office, told the community she would not have sought the appointment from Gov. Scott Walker without prayer. “I am thankful that through the years, many of you in this room have prayed for me diligently. Please, continue to do so,” Dorow said. “I am reminded of a verse from Micah, ‘He has shown you, oh man, what is good. What does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.’” …

Complaint: Donations from Former Waukesha County Judge Stolen

Mark Gundrum, now a Court of Appeals judge, says he is saddened that donations apparently did not reach wounded veterans.

A local appeals court judge and Iraq veteran is one of the victims of an alleged embezzlement scheme that diverted funds meant to help war veterans, according to a court document filed Thursday in Milwaukee County Circuit Court. Nearly $5,000 donated to the Military Order of the Purple Heart by Court of Appeals Judge Mark Gundrum never made it to the veterans and their families, according to a criminal complaint filed in Milwaukee County. Gundrum took a leave of absence from the state Assembly when he was a representative to serve in Iraq. The alleged embezzlement was uncovered during a Milwaukee County John Doe investigation into Gov. Scott Walker's staffers, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “My wife and I are just saddened …
