Kevin S. Cobus, 27, faces reckless homicide charges in the death of a Muskego woman and a Delafield man and a jury trial will start on Monday.
The trial for a Waukesha man accused of providing heroin to a Muskego woman and another man from Delafield, who both then overdosed on the drug and died, will begin on Monday. Kevin S. Cobus, 27, of Waukesha was charged in April 2012 with two counts of first-degree reckless homicide under the Len Bias law. Cobus used heroin on a daily basis at the time of his arrest last year, according to court documents. He is accused of providing drugs to Jamie L. Hansen, 24, of Muskego, and Cody C. Riggs, 26, of Delafield, on July 12, 2011 and Jan. 6, 2012 respectively. Waukesha County officials are beginning to examine if the county should remodel or renovate the current courthouse or build a brand new facility. Waukesha County is seeking proposals from consultants to conduct a study that would review the following components for the county courthouse: Waukesha County’s 2013 budget includes a $250,000 expenditure to review the courthouse space needs. The space needs analysis has been planned for years and follows the construction of a new Health and Human Services Department building, a project that is coming in under budget. “The purpose of this study is to determine whether Waukesha County’s resources are best spent in remodeling or renovating the existing courthouse; or constructing a new facility,” …

Woman is facing charges after she lied about her job in order to get benefits to pay for child care for her children.
A 30-year-old woman was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Wednesday with one count of failure to notify changes in public assistance. If convicted, she faces up to 10 years in prison and $25,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: The woman first began receiving child care assistance in 2008, first listing her employer as Buy Seasons and then later changing it to Solutions for Seniors. She then reapplied for the benefit in 2010, however, a fraud investigator contacted Solutions for Seniors and discovered she hadn’t worked there since 2009 even though she continued to list it as her employer. Latest appearance by Annmarie Schulte puts case on hold for another month.
A 37-year-old Muskego woman facing multiple charges after she allegedly took sexually explicit pictures of a young girl and sent them to a man she met online has requested more time during her latest court appearance. Annmarie Schulte has requested an extension through her attorney to allow for more time for discovery. She had waived her right to a preliminary hearing earlier in October, and will be scheduled for another general hearing on January 18. She has been charged with two counts of first degree sexual assault and two counts of sexual exploitation of a child. If convicted, she faces up to 200 years in prison. Argument over a friend's infidelity in front of couple's 5-year old daughter resulted in wife pulling a loaded gun
On June 23, a husband and wife involved in an argument about her friend having an affair led to the man, Jason Fry of Muskego, throwing a plate of spaghetti and then a full can of beer at his wife Stacy, both objects striking her in the head. According to the criminal complaint, the domestic dispute escalated over a period of an hour or two, with the couple eventually arguing down their hallway and into their bedroom. The couple's five year old daughter witnessed the struggle, and at one point the woman drew a loaded gun at her husband. The weapon was taken from Mrs. Fry and unloaded by the time police arrived on the scene. A 911 call was placed to Muskego Police by the wife. A Wind Lake man is facing charges after he stole a vintage bicycle from a Muskego garage and tried to sell it on Facebook, even though he advertised it was stolen. According to the criminal complaint, on Aug. 8, Mitchell A. Dlapa, 23, stole a 1950’s era Schwinn bicycle valued at $175 and tools valued at $575 from a garage in the W14200 block of Groveway Lane. A neighbor noticed Dlapa inside the garage, going through the victim’s car, but after the neighbor walked outside and his screen door slammed, Dlapa left the garage. Two days later another person who knew Dlapa saw him in their backyard yelling and screaming until he rode off on a bicycle. Muskego man accused of stabbing wife scheduled to appear in court again July 21.
Attempted homicide suspect Mark Shogren is trying to reach a resolution to his case with prosecutors. Shogren’s attorney Gerald Boyle told Waukesha County Circuit Court Judge Bill Domina Monday he’s attempting to reach a resolution with the district attorney’s office on the charges that Shogren stabbed his wife and left her for dead. Shogren was arrested in March after he stabbed his wife while she went to get a drink in the kitchen and they had been watching movies all afternoon. Although the couple hadn’t been fighting prior to the incident, the criminal complaint states they had made snide remarks about the relationships of the characters in the movies and how the compared to their own relationship.
