Bites Nearby: San Laurio Coffee House

Coffee and much more complete the menu.

San Laurio Coffee has been in Muskego for about five years, and there's really no place like it. The interior could have been plucked from any big city as it definitely has a cosmopolitan feel, yet the warm colors, wood & coffee bean floor and fireplace make it inviting. Owner Marie Sanborn also makes sure that it's just not coffee on the menu. Breakfast, lunch or dinner are covered with tasty bagel sandwiches for the morning crowd and salads and sandwiches for afternoon and evening dining. Prices hover around the $5 range for breakfast, and $6 to $7 for lunch. San Laurio can also work with customers to provide catered lunches elsewhere.   However, with the atmosphere and occasional live music, the suggestion is to bring your group here …

Bites Nearby: Marx the Spot for Dining and Community

Local bar and restaurant embraces the community with homemade food and events to keep patrons happy.

A funny thing happened on the way to the industrial park for Mark Sobczak, who had been looking at properties for his home buying and reselling interests.  “The real estate agent told us that we might want to look at this other place that was a bar, and having been in the business for many years we looked at it, and ended up buying it,” Sobczak explained. "This other place" has been Marx’ Pioneer Inn for five and a half years now, and while the front door opens to the bar, it’s also been the restaurant that has made it a destination. Marx’ features a fish fry every Friday night that has homemade written all over it. Breading, potato pancakes and clam chowder all make it to your plate as a result of hours of preparation in the kitchen. …
