Wine, chocolate and roses are the timely focus of the Whitnall Park Rotary Club’s upcoming fundraiser. The sweet selections are by design, with Valentines Day in mind, said the club’s president, Jim Thorson. Funds from the event will be dedicated to clean water projects. “There are approximately six billion people on the planet, and at least 20% of them do not have clean water to cook with,” Thorson said. “So we are trying to reach out and help people obtain what we take for granted.” The venue itself offers a splendid visual experience, Thorson said, adding the evening is an ideal ladies’ getaway that promotes indulgence for a reasonable cost - $30 per ticket. “We’ve had a lot of women in groups of 3-5 who have purchased tickets, as well …
