A Hot Time at July Jammin'

Remember being chilly at June's Jammin' on Janesville? Well, you won't have to worry about that for July's edition of Muskego's street party.

As the sun set on June's Jammin' on Janesville, it was good to have a coat on. That memory will be easily wiped away at the July 6 Jammin', as temps at the start of the festival will be into the 90s. Muskego Patch will be in attendance along with about 85 other local businesses - visit us just across from Muskego Elementary School at DeWinter Eye Care! So, what's new at the July Jammin? Muskego Food Pantry will be the festivals nonprofit beneficiary, sponsored by Sandoval Dental care. The Park and Recreation Board meetings are always 'newsy,' and here is a roundup of items that were discussed Monday night at City Hall: The American Legion is donating a 20-foot flagpole and benches to be placed to the west of the Old Town Hall building at the Muskego Settlement Centre. The flagpole will be lit by solar lights, and will likely begin construction in later spring. The city's purchase of the Boxhorn boat launch will close in late May, early June and Parks Director Craig Anderson said he is working on writing the grant for a May 1 deadline. The grant is expected to cover 50 percent of the $170,000 price of the launch. The Summer Program Guide is printed and will be sent out to residents around April 19. Additional copies will…

Muskego Parks & Rec Progress Report on Park Arthur, Water Bugs and Movies

Topography of park is taking shape, and the news is good as the season closes on the Water Bugs and Movies in the Park.

As graders have been working on the site that will become Park Arthur along Muskego's northern border, Director of Parks and Recreation Craig Anderson said the work has produced 'phenomenal' sledding hills. "This will undoubtedly give the park year-round use, and provides three different slopes for sledding," he said at the Monday night meeting of the Park Board. Paving to further complete entry points into the park was started Tuesday, which raised some concerns that it might encourage vandals looking to 'off road' their vehicles at the site.  However, Anderson said plans always start with paving of roadways and at least partial parking areas. In addition, Anderson reported that for June, July and August he had received no complaints of …
