Bank Robbery in Muskego Finally Has Suspect

Four-year-old case gets a confession from a Madison man, who may also be linked to other cases in Milwaukee.

Muskego Police are reporting the break in a bank robbery case that is four years old. On Dec. 13, 2008, a man walked into Pick n Save and robbed the Mukwonago State Bank branch located inside. Reports at the time the robbery occurred indicated few hints to the suspect's identity other than that he was a white male in his 30s to 50s, and the car was a maroon four-door.   However a trail that had gone cold suddenly got new life. This past week, a Madison man confessed to committing this bank robbery as well as several others in the Milwaukee Metro area, according to Lt. Dave Constantineau.  No one had been injured in the robbery, and no weapon was presented, but implied. Witnessese then described the scene as 'chaotic' and 'scary.' The …

Muskego Will See Additional Seasonal Businesses

Fireworks and flowers will be an easier get for Muskego residents as the Plan Commission approves the seasonal businesses on Tuesday night.

A very quick Plan Commission meeting on Tuesday night resulted in the approval of two additional businesses that will be set up for seasonal sales. The sale of flowers for A.W. Greenhouses was unanimously approved at EJ Salentine in the Tess Corners area. Stein's 'Just Plants' was approved earlier this year in front of Kohl's Department Store, and Ace Hardware has also been approved for additional greenhouse sales in their lots. The temporary business is expected to open May 9 and operate daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. through July 30. In addition, another site that will feature fireworks sales will post tents at  Walmart. There will also be fireworks sales featured in the Piggly Wiggly, Pick n Save and Jetz Fuel lots during the week of the …

PHOTOS: Volunteers Brave Lousy Day to Make a Difference

Despite cold and rainy conditions, many Muskego groups come out to help out; food pantry a big winner in the efforts.

No doubt, Saturday wouldn't have been anyone's dream day to spend outside. Temps hovering in the low 40s and an off-and-on drizzle made for - let's face it - lousy conditions. However, volunteers associated with many Muskego nonprofit organizations and citizens groups made the best of it, and from most reports, results were successful. The Muskego Food Pantry got a fair share of attention from two food drives. The Bay Lane PTO and student council were stationed in front of Pick n Save to "stuff the bus." Staff from the school said there had already been 1,700 items collected at the school, and donations were steady throughout the morning.  Further up the road, Walmart was the site to "stuff the truck" with volunteers from the VFW Post 8171…

Plan Commission Update: Muskego Kohl's Will Rethink Redesign

Retailer says they are withdrawing a design plan, but will likely be back before year's end.

Stating that Kohl's was withdrawing a request to redesign the front entrances at its Muskego location, Mayor Kathy Chiaverotti explained that the agenda item for Tuesday night's Plan Commission would be tabled. "Kohl's is undergoing a revaluation for its Muskego store, so they will not be pursuing the request at this time," Chiaverotti said. "They stated that they would likely be back with a proposal before the end of the year." The initial request was made in December for a redesign, but the plan commissioners were concerned that the revamp was too modern in design, and didn't fit in with the commerce corridor's prairie style requirement. A January meeting, which would have continued the discussion, was canceled because there weren't …
