Concussion Bill Meets Muster for State Legislators

Gov. Scott Walker has on his desk new legislation that would require young athletes suspected of having a head injury to be removed from the activity until he or she can be evaluated by a health care provider.

Messmer/Shorewood quarterback Taylor Dennis said he was in class when he heard the news his team was playoff-bound. "My face just lit up, I was so excited," he said. Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Kevin Martens issued a temporary judgment Tuesday saying the WIAA must consider the football program for the playoffs and release the playoff pairings that includes the team. Playoffs start Friday and although Martens didn’t say when the pairings needed to be released, the WIAA issued playoff brackets shortly after. WIAA Changes Will Impact Muskego: Welcome to the Classic 8

The decision for realignment will mean Muskego competes against other Waukesha County teams, and additional changes will impact spring sports in 2013.

The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association's (WIAA) Board of Control met last week,  and approved a number of recommendations that will impact spring sports, while giving its final approval for conference realignment that affects Muskego High School beginning in spring 2012.
