I have worked in the pet industry on and off since 1978, I have been Managing Pet Supplies N More since 2000.  I have met many wonderful pet owners in those years and many have become friends and I love some of their pets like my own.   I have completed coursework in Animal Nutrition, and have read 100 s of books on the subject.(Now in our resource center at the store for you to enjoy)  After researching dog food and studying nutrition independently for over 10 years, I wanted to know what kind of academic education is actually available in the field of pet nutrition.  As I found out, there is actually no such thing as a canine nutritionist.  The closest job description found was that of a veterinary nutritionist, veterinarians with a PhD in animal nutrition who are certified by the American College of Veterinary Nutrition, and only very few of them exist, and most of them work for, or are affiliated with the pet food industry.  So for all these and many other reasons I prefer to describe what I do as canine care and nutrition consulting or Pet nutrition counselor.  My goal is to provide unbiased information to people who are interested in learning about better alternatives in care and nutrition for their pets, and to help them overcome the fear of doing wrong. 

In my lifetime I have had as pets - horses and ponies, dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, pigeons, parakeets, many other larger birds, finches, hamsters, guinea pigs, gerbils, lizards, spiders, fish and snakes.
