Muskego Hopes to Make Its 50th Birthday One to Remember

Muskego approaches a milestone next year, and the mayor has organized a task force to help plan its 50th birthday.

On November 9, 1964, papers were signed and Muskego became a city.

So, as the 50th anniversary of that event approaches in 2014, Mayor Kathy Chiaverotti has organized a task force to help plan a 50th Birthday Celebration.

The group's first meeting was just last week, so no details are formed just yet, but that may be where you come in.

Task Force members include Terri Boyer, chairman and contact person; Tracy DeAngelis, Marge Ingold, Krisann Durnford, Frank Cistaro, Tina Schaefer and Dena Squaires have also been appointed. Members on the task force are also affiliated with some of Muskego's longstanding service clubs, like the Lion's Club, Woman's Club, Kiwanis, Moose Lodge, Chamber of Commerce and Muskego Athletic Association, which are hoped to help promote the city's birthday within their own events as it draws nearer.

Chiaverotti also said the Common Council will discuss what it will do or provide for the celebration separate of the Task Force but it will be incorporated into the calendar of activities.
