Preschool Teacher's Heroin Relapse Brings Drugs to School, Police Say

Muskego woman is accused of having a friend bring her heroin while she was working at a local preschool, as well as having used needles and other drug paraphernalia in a bag at the school, according to a criminal complaint.

A Muskego woman is accused of having heroin delivered to her while she was working as a preschool teacher.

Kiley N. Cirillo, 20, was charged Friday in Waukesha County Circuit Court with attempted possession of narcotic drugs, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted, she faces up to a year in jail and $11,500 in fines.

New Berlin police officers were called to Hales Corners Lutheran Preschool, 12555 W. Janesville Road, after school staff believed they found illegal drugs inside a Culver’s food bag that had been delivered at the school for Cirillo, according to the complaint.

Another employee at the school received the bag after Cirillo told him a friend was dropping off food at 2:40 p.m. May 9. Inside, the employee located an opened box of candy and a wad of Kleenex wrapped around tinfoil with what appeared to be drugs, according to the criminal complaint. The employee told police Cirillo had approached him looking for the package, so he told her it hadn’t arrived yet.

Cirillo previously told the employee she had used drugs and the employee was concerned she relapsed, the complaint states.

The substance later tested positive for heroin and weighed .5 grams, the complaint states.

The school planned to suspend or terminate Cirillo, the complaint states, but waited to allow police to search her vehicle and personal items, which is permissible under the employee handbook.

Cirillo told a police officer she thought the bag contained food after she had asked a friend via text message for food. However, when a police officer looked at the text messages, Cirillo told a friend she was sick and the friend offered to bring her “a shot,” the complaint states.

“Just bring one to my work wrapped in a paper towel and a bag,” Cirillo responded to her friend back, the complaint states. “Put it  under some food or something, and then tell my work its for me and they’ll gimme it.”

Police also located in her bag used needles, wet brown cotton balls, a silver spoon with burnt residue, a small silver bowl with burnt residue, a blue rubber cord and a bottle with two unknown pills and two Suboxone pads, the complaint states.

Cirillo started using heroin in January and entered detox in April, she told police. She relapsed in May after experiencing frustration over family problems, according to the complaint. She also admitted to possessing Suboxone and Xanax without a prescription to help her cope with withdrawal symptoms.
