Idle Isle Beach Closed Through the Weekend

Swimming will not be allowed due to high E.coli levels found in the waters off the Muskego park's beach.I

Craig Anderson, Director of Parks and Recreation, has ordered that the beach at Idle Isle Park be closed due to persistent high levels of E.coli.

Tests run on Monday, August 29 indicated a level of 1,299.7 ppm, which exceeded the standards. A retest on Thursday, September 1 was conducted, but remained in excess of standards, so the decision was made to close the beach, according to Stella Dunahee with the department.

Parks and Recreation officials confirmed that the closure will be in effect through the weekend, and would not be lifted until a subsequent testing can show levels are low enough to ensure safety.
