Work on Racine Ave. Recreational Trail To Begin Soon

The Racine Avenue Recreational Trail, from Woods Road to Janesville Road, could be done in time for the start of school.

Construction on a recreational trail along Racine Avenue is set to begin soon and could be done by the time school starts in the fall.

The Racine Avenue Recreational Trail is a planned 8-foot wide asphalt trail on the west side of Racine Avenue from Woods Road to Culver's, just south of Janesville Road. The trail will be the final link in a loop that connects Woods, Moorland and Janesville together.

The city has received a permit from the Army Corps of Engineers and will bid out the project soon, Public Works Director David Simpson said in a committee meeting last week.

The Muskego Common Council will likely approve a bid in July, with construction starting shortly thereafter.

Work could be completed by the start of school depending on the contractor chosen, Simpson said.
