Muskego Chamber Participates in Statewide Initiative to Send Local Kids to Business World

The Muskego Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring five students to attend the Business World summer camp to represent their high school and local chamber at the state-wide program this June.

Through the Business World Chamber Challenge, the Muskego Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring five students to attend the Business World summer camp and represent their high school and local chamber at the state-wide program this June. Sessions will be held at Edgewood College in Madison June 16-19 and St. Norbert College in De Pere June 23-26.

Wisconsin Business World provides high school students with the opportunity to run a “company” and make many of the same decisions faced by real world business executives. This interactive program emphasizes team building, project collaboration, marketing and design, public speaking, and basic finance through hands-on activities and competitions. Under the guidance of a volunteer mentor, students form a company, elect officers, create and market a product, exhibit at a trade show, perform a commercial skit, and present their company performance to a panel of shareholders. Students hear from business speakers and take tours of local businesses to round out their experience at camp.

“The Muskego Chamber’s participation in the Chamber Challenge demonstrates their commitment to developing the workforce of tomorrow,” Business World Program Director Steve Benzschawel said. “They recognize today’s students are tomorrow’s business and community leaders and their efforts leave students better prepared for the challenges and opportunities they will face.”

Business World is a program of Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce – the statewide chamber of commerce. Visit wibusinessworld.org for more information on the program.
