Muskego Soccer Star Goes to Japan with U.S. Team

Andrija Novakovich will wear his country's colors for matches against Japan and Croatia.

A Muskego soccer standout takes his skills to an international stage this week, representing the U.S. U-17 national team on a trip to Japan.

WisconsinSoccerCentral.com reports that Andrija Novakovich joins the 18-player roster for matches against Japan, Croatia and an all-star team from Niigata.

Novakovich is one of four forwards on the U.S. roster, according to a release from U.S. Soccer.

Top Drawer Soccer ranks him as the No. 1 player in the Midwest in his class, and the No. 5 midfielder nationally. He still has his senior season to go at Muskego High School, and has committed to play at Marquette University.

Earlier this year another Muskego soccer standout, Luka Prpa, was in training camp with the U.S. Under-15 team.
